At the close in NYSE, the Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 0.33%, while the S&P 500 index declined 0.14%, and the NASDAQ Composite index declined 0.24%.
The best performers of the session on the Dow Jones Industrial Average were Cisco Systems Inc (NASDAQ:CSCO), which rose 1.93% or 0.93 points to trade at 49.13 at the close. Meanwhile, Merck & Company Inc (NYSE:MRK) added 1.30% or 1.48 points to end at 115.48 and International Business Machines (NYSE:IBM) was up 0.88% or 1.12 points to 127.27 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Nike Inc (NYSE:NKE), which fell 3.50% or 4.16 points to trade at 114.71 at the close. Walt Disney Company (NYSE:DIS) declined 2.56% or 2.40 points to end at 91.36 and Home Depot Inc (NYSE:HD) was down 1.44% or 4.25 points to 290.91.
The top performers on the S&P 500 were Catalent Inc (NYSE:CTLT) which rose 15.59% to 37.15, EPAM Systems Inc (NYSE:EPAM) which was up 4.07% to settle at 247.81 and Adobe Systems Incorporated (NASDAQ:ADBE) which gained 3.00% to close at 371.25.
The worst performers were VF Corporation (NYSE:VFC) which was down 8.16% to 19.07 in late trade, Signature Bank (OTC:SBNY) which lost 7.53% to settle at 0.14 and Lumen Technologies Inc (NYSE:LUMN) which was down 6.37% to 2.35 at the close.
The top performers on the NASDAQ Composite were Wisekey International Holding AG (NASDAQ:WKEY) which rose 50.00% to 3.45, Neximmune Inc (NASDAQ:NEXI) which was up 46.64% to settle at 0.44 and Tempo Automation Holdings Inc (NASDAQ:TMPO) which gained 37.20% to close at 0.34.
The worst performers were CaliberCos Inc (NASDAQ:CWD) which was down 31.82% to 5.25 in late trade, Adamis Pharma (NASDAQ:ADMP) which lost 26.47% to settle at 0.05 and Elevation Oncology Inc (NASDAQ:ELEV) which was down 24.70% to 3.81 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the New York Stock Exchange by 1761 to 1184 and 90 ended unchanged; on the Nasdaq Stock Exchange, 1852 fell and 1672 advanced, while 151 ended unchanged.
Shares in VF Corporation (NYSE:VFC) fell to 5-year lows; falling 8.16% or 1.70 to 19.07. Shares in Wisekey International Holding AG (NASDAQ:WKEY) rose to 52-week highs; up 50.00% or 1.15 to 3.45. Shares in CaliberCos Inc (NASDAQ:CWD) fell to all time lows; losing 31.82% or 2.45 to 5.25. Shares in Adamis Pharma (NASDAQ:ADMP) fell to all time lows; falling 26.47% or 0.02 to 0.05.
The CBOE Volatility Index, which measures the implied volatility of S&P 500 options, was up 4.74% to 16.81.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.99% or 19.45 to $1,979.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.18% or 0.13 to hit $71.73 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.09% or 0.07 to trade at $75.79 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.34% to 1.08, while USD/JPY fell 0.56% to 137.92.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.38% at 103.06.
