Vince Vaughn just crashed the internet.

The actor met President Trump in a luxury box at the Superdome in New Orleans on Monday, and the two appeared to exchange amicable words. The “Wedding Crashers” star had the gall to shake the president’s hand, as people do, right there at the college football title game, for all to see.

A video clip of the interaction racked up almost 5 million views after a former Deadspin employee tweeted it out:

Fox News ran the headline “Vince Vaughn faces liberal outrage after he was seen with Trump during national championship game” and had White House spokesperson Hogan Gidley on to talk about how “Democrats seem to be more upset at this exchange than they do at Soleimani killing Americans citizens”:

This focus on Vaughn, a libertarian who backed Rand Paul in the 2016 race for the White House, soon topped Twitter’s TWTR, +1.13% list of trending topics. There were, indeed, some people feeling the “cancel culture”:
