The Best Picture victory for “CODA” is likely a boon for Apple Inc.’s streaming service, but that’s not the only way that people can catch the drama.

plans to conduct a limited re-release of “CODA” in more than 600 U.S. theaters beginning Friday, the company announced Wednesday. The film will have open captions so that it is accessible to the Deaf community and people who are hard of hearing.

“As our industry recognizes ‘CODA’ with its highest honor, we’re excited once again to bring this moving film to theaters so that audiences can share in the experience of watching it together,” Erica Anderson, a member of Apple’s film-distribution team, said in an announcement provided to MarketWatch.

While Apple has gotten into the TV and film game to build out its Apple TV+ streaming service, it distributed “CODA” in some theaters at various other points leading up to Sunday’s Oscar victory.

Apple’s announcement doesn’t specify the length of the limited run.

One theater participating in the run is Gloucester Cinema, located in Gloucester, Mass., where “CODA” was largely filmed. The theater announced on its Facebook page earlier in the week that the film would be playing there for “one week only” starting Friday, though it posted an update Wednesday saying that it plans to extend showings by another week “as sales have been so strong.”
