Porsche (OTC:POAHY) announced Wednesday its all-electric Taycan Turbo S sedan has broken the Nürburgring Nordschleife lap record for EVs with a time of 7:33. The previous record was held by Tesla’s (NASDAQ:TSLA) Model S Plaid at 7:35.57.

The record lap was set using the Nürburgring’s new system of record lap timing, which includes the small straight between turns 13 and 14.

According to Porsche, the Taycan Turbo S was equipped with a new performance kit with 21-inch RS Spyder-design wheels, ultra-sticky Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires, and an update to the car’s chassis control system.

The performance package is currently only available in Germany for the 2023 model. Starting later this year, cars with this package will have it retrofitted after initial delivery at Porsche’s Zuffenhausen facility.
