shares dipped as much as 0.6% Monday, threatening a seventh session of consecutive declines, for its worst losing streak since Sept. 6, 2022, when shares also fell for seven straight trading days, according to Dow Jones Market Data.

A loss Monday would also mark the stock’s worst seven-day run since the period ending Aug. 3, when it fell 6.9%, according to Dow Jones Market Data.

The stock is about 12% off its record closing high of $359.49, set on July 18. Shares were last down 0.2% at $316.59, putting them on track for their lowest close since May 24, when they finished at $313.85, according to DJMD.

In a Monday-dated note, Guggenheim analyst John DiFucci stepped away from his sell rating, the last remaining sell rating on the stock by Wall Street analysts, according to FactSet data. DiFucci said he stopped holding out as “the Generative AI narrative is too positive a force to contend with, even though the troubling dynamics we thought might develop, did,” adding that Windows has continued to struggle.

Meanwhile, the Dow Jones Industrial Average

of which Microsoft is a component, was trading flat Monday.

One way in which the current streak is similar to the one from a year ago is that the Dow also fell six out of those seven sessions, nearly in lockstep with Microsoft stock from Aug. 26 to Sept. 6, 2022, according to FactSet data.
