Investing.com – Japan stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Tokyo, the rose 0.18% to hit a new 52-week high.
The best performers of the session on the were CyberAgent Inc (T:), which rose 3.40% or 125.0 points to trade at 3800.0 at the close. Meanwhile, Taiyo Yuden Co., Ltd. (T:) added 3.22% or 110.0 points to end at 3530.0 and IHI Corp. (T:) was up 2.38% or 66.0 points to 2835.0 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Isetan Mitsukoshi Holdings Ltd. (T:), which fell 4.64% or 47.0 points to trade at 965.0 at the close. Sapporo Holdings Ltd. (T:) declined 3.72% or 101.0 points to end at 2616.0 and Familymart Ltd (T:) was down 2.78% or 73.0 points to 2556.0.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 2407 to 1155 and 241 ended unchanged.
The , which measures the implied volatility of Nikkei 225 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 13.20 a new 1-month low.
Crude oil for March delivery was up 1.01% or 0.59 to $59.17 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 1.13% or 0.73 to hit $65.58 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.05% or 0.85 to trade at $1561.15 a troy ounce.
USD/JPY was up 0.03% to 110.17, while EUR/JPY rose 0.08% to 122.27.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 97.365.
