Germany stocks mixed at close of trade; DAX up 0.12%

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 0.12% to hit a new 1-month low, while the MDAX index declined 1.82%, and the TecDAX index lost 1.27%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Fresenius SE & Co KGAA O.N. (ETR:FREG), which rose 4.56% or 1.16 points to trade at 26.61 at the close. Meanwhile, Beiersdorf AG O.N. (ETR:BEIG) added 1.10% or 1.45 points to end at 133.85 and Covestro AG (ETR:1COV) was up 0.28% or 0.14 points to 50.96 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Dr Ing hc F Porsche AG Preferred (ETR:P911_p), which fell 3.09% or 2.88 points to trade at 90.26 at the close. Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (ETR:BMWG) declined 2.96% or 3.25 points to end at 106.45 and Heidelbergcement AG O.N. (ETR:HEIG) was down 2.68% or 2.64 points to 95.70.

The top performers on the MDAX were Redcare Pharmacy NV (ETR:RDC) which rose 1.18% to 137.60, Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which was up 1.05% to settle at 12.51 and Evonik Industries AG (ETR:EVKn) which gained 0.74% to close at 19.11.

The worst performers were Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (ETR:AT1) which was down 6.29% to 1.71 in late trade, Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (ETR:TKAG) which lost 5.70% to settle at 4.63 and Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which was down 5.49% to 28.92 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Suess Microtec NA O.N. (ETR:SMHNn) which rose 2.56% to 40.10, Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which was up 1.05% to settle at 12.51 and Kontron AG (ETR:KTN) which gained 0.26% to close at 19.50.

The worst performers were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which was down 3.99% to 13.23 in late trade, Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which lost 3.82% to settle at 81.75 and United Internet AG NA (ETR:UTDI) which was down 3.53% to 20.24 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 522 to 100 and 25 ended unchanged.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 4.65% to 18.02 a new 3-months high.

Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.89% or 21.15 to $2,404.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 0.04% or 0.03 to hit $85.44 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 0.04% or 0.04 to trade at $90.06 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.00% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.13% to 0.85.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.12% at 106.13.
