Germany stocks mixed at close of trade; DAX down 0.30%

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX lost 0.30%, while the MDAX index fell 0.31%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.02%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were HelloFresh SE (DE:HFGG), which rose 2.59% or 1.98 points to trade at 78.34 at the close. Meanwhile, Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) added 1.79% or 10.200 points to end at 581.000 and Merck KGaA (DE:MRCG) was up 1.63% or 3.60 points to 224.70 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn), which fell 3.29% or 0.375 points to trade at 11.020 at the close. Delivery Hero AG (DE:DHER) declined 2.01% or 2.20 points to end at 107.05 and Airbus Group SE (DE:AIRG) was down 1.71% or 1.84 points to 105.48.

The top performers on the MDAX were Gerresheimer AG (DE:GXIG) which rose 1.17% to 82.150, Rational AG (DE:RAAG) which was up 0.96% to settle at 860.20 and Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (DE:AFXG) which gained 0.93% to close at 173.550.

The worst performers were AUTO1 Group SE (DE:AG1G) which was down 5.56% to 23.80 in late trade, Fuchs Petrolub AG VZO Pref (DE:FPEG_p) which lost 2.78% to settle at 39.870 and Deutsche Lufthansa AG (DE:LHAG) which was down 1.95% to 6.076 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Suse SA (DE:SUSEG) which rose 2.72% to 37.80, Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) which was up 1.79% to settle at 581.000 and Morphosys AG O.N. (DE:MORG) which gained 1.55% to close at 35.290.

The worst performers were Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) which was down 2.18% to 15.280 in late trade, Pfeiffer Vacuum Technology O.N. (DE:PV) which lost 2.07% to settle at 213.00 and SMA Solar Technology AG (DE:S92G) which was down 1.64% to 40.720 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 392 to 313 and 71 ended unchanged.

Shares in Merck KGaA (DE:MRCG) rose to all time highs; up 1.63% or 3.60 to 224.70. Shares in AUTO1 Group SE (DE:AG1G) fell to all time lows; losing 5.56% or 1.40 to 23.80.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 4.53% to 21.08.

Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.53% or 9.55 to $1775.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.15% or 0.83 to hit $71.53 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 1.09% or 0.83 to trade at $74.99 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.48% to 1.1288, while EUR/GBP fell 0.47% to 0.8543.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.40% at 96.265.
