Germany stocks lower at close of trade; DAX down 0.42%

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX lost 0.42% to hit a new 1-month low, while the MDAX index fell 0.25%, and the TecDAX index fell 1.06%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (ETR:DBKGn), which rose 5.74% or 0.57 points to trade at 10.51 at the close. Meanwhile, Bayer AG NA (ETR:BAYGN) added 1.16% or 0.57 points to end at 49.37 and Brenntag AG (ETR:BNRGn) was up 0.88% or 0.50 points to 57.50 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Siemens Healthineers AG (ETR:SHLG), which fell 4.37% or 2.07 points to trade at 45.27 at the close. Dr Ing hc F Porsche AG Preferred (ETR:P911_p) declined 4.09% or 3.96 points to end at 92.92 and Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn) was down 2.79% or 0.60 points to 20.88.

The top performers on the MDAX were Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG) which rose 9.17% to 8.98, Hugo Boss AG NA O.N. (ETR:BOSSn) which was up 2.02% to settle at 52.40 and Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which gained 1.15% to close at 43.14.

The worst performers were Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (ETR:AT1) which was down 9.66% to 2.11 in late trade, LEG Immobilien AG (ETR:LEGn) which lost 3.71% to settle at 57.62 and Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which was down 3.53% to 71.10 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which rose 1.35% to 22.50, Suse SA (ETR:SUSEG) which was unchanged 0.00% to settle at 16.18 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) which lost 0.09% to close at 339.20.

The worst performers were Siemens Healthineers AG (ETR:SHLG) which was down 4.37% to 45.27 in late trade, Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which lost 3.53% to settle at 71.10 and Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which was down 3.52% to 11.91 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 432 to 231 and 93 ended unchanged.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 1.44% to 21.07.

Gold Futures for February delivery was up 1.51% or 27.10 to $1,824.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 1.07% or 0.81 to hit $76.19 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.33% or 0.26 to trade at $80.06 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.01% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.13% to 0.87.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.59% at 103.72.
