France stocks higher at close of trade; CAC 40 up 0.09%

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.09% to hit a new 6-months high, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.12%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Capgemini SE (EPA:CAPP), which rose 2.95% or 5.05 points to trade at 176.30 at the close. Meanwhile, STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STM) added 2.03% or 0.79 points to end at 39.51 and Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO) was up 1.94% or 0.50 points to 26.32 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Pernod Ricard SA (EPA:PERP), which fell 2.90% or 5.70 points to trade at 191.05 at the close. Kering SA (EPA:PRTP) declined 2.05% or 11.40 points to end at 543.70 and Renault SA (EPA:RENA) was down 1.96% or 0.75 points to 37.27.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Technip Energies BV (EPA:TE) which rose 4.00% to 17.05, Vallourec (EPA:VLLP) which was up 3.41% to settle at 13.34 and Verallia (EPA:VRLA) which gained 3.28% to close at 33.96.

The worst performers were Fnac Darty SA (EPA:FNAC) which was down 6.78% to 34.08 in late trade, Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) which lost 4.93% to settle at 7.41 and Antin Infrastructure Partners SASU (EPA:ANTIN) which was down 3.88% to 22.30 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 277 to 262 and 99 ended unchanged.

Shares in Technip Energies BV (EPA:TE) rose to all time highs; gaining 4.00% or 0.65 to 17.05. Shares in Verallia (EPA:VRLA) rose to 52-week highs; up 3.28% or 1.08 to 33.96.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.

Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.12% or 2.25 to $1,907.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.04% or 0.03 to hit $80.42 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.42% or 0.36 to trade at $85.56 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.07% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.36% to 0.87.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.04% at 102.10.
