Germany stocks lower at close of trade; DAX down 0.28%

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX fell 0.28% to hit a new 1-month low, while the MDAX index declined 0.45%, and the TecDAX index declined 0.91%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were RWE AG ST O.N. (ETR:RWEG), which rose 3.67% or 1.15 points to trade at 32.49 at the close. Meanwhile, Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG) added 1.95% or 10.40 points to end at 543.20 and MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (ETR:MTXGn) was up 1.64% or 3.50 points to 217.20 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p), which fell 3.07% or 10.60 points to trade at 334.90 at the close. Dr Ing hc F Porsche AG Preferred (ETR:P911_p) declined 2.52% or 2.40 points to end at 92.84 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) was down 2.26% or 0.74 points to 32.06.

The top performers on the MDAX were Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (ETR:AT1) which rose 5.54% to 1.88, Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which was up 3.95% to settle at 84.30 and Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which gained 3.53% to close at 13.77.

The worst performers were Puma SE (ETR:PUMG) which was down 5.22% to 40.52 in late trade, Hugo Boss AG NA O.N. (ETR:BOSSn) which lost 3.28% to settle at 50.76 and CTS Eventim AG (ETR:EVDG) which was down 2.50% to 82.00 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which rose 3.95% to 84.30, Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which was up 3.53% to settle at 13.77 and Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which gained 1.78% to close at 40.08.

The worst performers were Atoss Software AG (ETR:AOFG) which was down 3.82% to 252.00 in late trade, Eckert & Ziegler AG O.N. (ETR:EUZG) which lost 3.10% to settle at 34.40 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) which was down 3.07% to 334.90 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 307 to 292 and 36 ended unchanged.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 12.35% to 17.47 a new 3-months high.

Gold Futures for June delivery was up 1.45% or 34.30 to $2,407.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 1.55% or 1.32 to hit $86.34 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 1.39% or 1.25 to trade at $90.99 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.74% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.04% to 0.85.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.65% at 105.75.
