Germany stocks higher at close of trade; DAX up 1.85%

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 1.85%, while the MDAX index climbed 1.37%, and the TecDAX index climbed 0.97%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn), which rose 4.71% or 0.372 points to trade at 8.273 at the close. Meanwhile, Heidelbergcement AG O.N. (DE:HEIG) added 4.50% or 2.210 points to end at 51.340 and Linde PLC (DE:LINI) was up 3.43% or 6.450 points to 194.650 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were SAP SE (DE:SAPG), which fell 1.56% or 1.430 points to trade at 90.220 at the close. Deutsche Boerse AG (DE:DB1Gn) declined 1.24% or 1.570 points to end at 125.080 and Delivery Hero AG (DE:DHER) was down 1.40% or 1.38 points to 97.40.

The top performers on the MDAX were Cancom SE O.N. (DE:COKG) which rose 6.19% to 36.000, Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (DE:O2Dn) which was up 6.14% to settle at 2.300 and Freenet AG NA (DE:FNTGn) which gained 5.51% to close at 16.025.

The worst performers were Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which was down 2.44% to 79.280 in late trade, Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (DE:AFXG) which lost 1.89% to settle at 108.800 and Aixtron SE (DE:AIXGn) which was down 1.31% to 9.547 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were LPKF Laser & Electronics (DE:LPKG) which rose 7.27% to 17.400, Cancom SE O.N. (DE:COKG) which was up 6.19% to settle at 36.000 and Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (DE:O2Dn) which gained 6.14% to close at 2.300.

The worst performers were Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which was down 2.44% to 79.280 in late trade, Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (DE:AFXG) which lost 1.89% to settle at 108.800 and SAP SE (DE:SAPG) which was down 1.56% to 90.220 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 424 to 123 and 21 ended unchanged.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 1.74% to 37.28.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.82% or 15.45 to $1895.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.53% or 0.19 to hit $35.98 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.53% or 0.20 to trade at $38.14 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.06% to 1.1640, while EUR/GBP rose 0.24% to 0.9021.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.09% at 94.125.
