France stocks higher at close of trade; CAC 40 up 2.02%

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 2.02%, while the SBF 120 index added 1.98%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Total SA (PA:TOTF), which rose 4.76% or 1.23 points to trade at 27.05 at the close. Meanwhile, Veolia Environnement VE SA (PA:VIE) added 4.22% or 0.68 points to end at 16.66 and Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA (PA:SGOB) was up 4.09% or 1.37 points to 34.87 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW), which fell 2.69% or 0.94 points to trade at 33.96 at the close. Alstom SA (PA:ALSO) declined 1.07% or 0.41 points to end at 38.07 and Dassault Systemes SE (PA:DAST) was down 0.31% or 0.45 points to 146.10.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Genfit (PA:GNFT) which rose 8.52% to 3.39, Nexans SA (PA:NEXS) which was up 7.25% to settle at 44.66 and TechnipFMC PLC (PA:FTI) which gained 6.57% to close at 5.01.

The worst performers were Faurecia (PA:EPED) which was down 2.61% to 31.69 in late trade, WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) which lost 2.69% to settle at 33.96 and Groupe FNAC (PA:FNAC) which was down 1.95% to 36.16 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 416 to 165 and 72 ended unchanged.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 1.24% to 32.03.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.66% or 12.45 to $1892.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.11% or 0.04 to hit $35.83 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.16% or 0.06 to trade at $38.00 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.09% to 1.1637, while EUR/GBP rose 0.16% to 0.9013.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 94.142.
