Germany stocks higher at close of trade; DAX up 0.91%

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 0.91%, while the MDAX index added 1.10%, and the TecDAX index climbed 0.59%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Allianz SE VNA O.N. (ETR:ALVG), which rose 4.90% or 10.50 points to trade at 225.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Fresenius SE & Co KGAA O.N. (ETR:FREG) added 4.15% or 1.19 points to end at 29.86 and Hannover Rueck SE (ETR:HNRGn) was up 4.12% or 8.00 points to 202.40 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Siemens AG Class N (ETR:SIEGn), which fell 4.79% or 7.02 points to trade at 139.46 at the close. Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n) declined 3.11% or 0.44 points to end at 13.56 and Qiagen NV (ETR:QIA) was down 1.78% or 0.73 points to 40.19.

The top performers on the MDAX were Vitesco Technologies Group AG (ETR:VTSCn) which rose 6.25% to 81.65, Tag Immobilien AG (ETR:TEGG) which was up 5.82% to settle at 10.53 and Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (ETR:TKAG) which gained 3.93% to close at 6.92.

The worst performers were Jungheinrich AG O.N.VZO (ETR:JUNG_p) which was down 7.16% to 30.86 in late trade, SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which lost 6.93% to settle at 77.25 and Jenoptik AG (ETR:JENGn) which was down 3.25% to 27.40 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were ADTRAN Holdingsa Inc (ETR:QH9) which rose 6.12% to 7.14, Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) which was up 4.01% to settle at 368.00 and Eckert & Ziegler AG O.N. (ETR:EUZG) which gained 3.79% to close at 33.42.

The worst performers were SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which was down 6.93% to 77.25 in late trade, CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (ETR:COP1n) which lost 5.09% to settle at 42.54 and Jenoptik AG (ETR:JENGn) which was down 3.25% to 27.40 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 403 to 243 and 97 ended unchanged.

Shares in Fresenius SE & Co KGAA O.N. (ETR:FREG) rose to 52-week highs; up 4.15% or 1.19 to 29.86. Shares in Vitesco Technologies Group AG (ETR:VTSCn) rose to all time highs; up 6.25% or 4.80 to 81.65.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 4.58% to 17.51.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.01% or 0.25 to $1,950.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.40% or 1.18 to hit $83.22 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 1.07% or 0.94 to trade at $86.61 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.34% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.38% to 0.87.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.10% at 102.21.
