Germany stocks higher at close of trade; DAX up 0.88%

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.88%, while the MDAX index gained 1.38%, and the TecDAX index gained 1.21%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG), which rose 3.06% or 0.83 points to trade at 27.92 at the close. Meanwhile, Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn) added 2.94% or 0.60 points to end at 20.98 and Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n) was up 2.71% or 0.35 points to 13.47 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Henkel & Co KGaA AG Pref (ETR:HNKG_p), which fell 0.72% or 0.52 points to trade at 71.44 at the close. Hannover Rueck SE (ETR:HNRGn) declined 0.48% or 0.95 points to end at 195.60 and Daimler Truck Holding AG (ETR:DTGGe) was down 0.46% or 0.15 points to 32.53.

The top performers on the MDAX were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which rose 6.52% to 22.06, Encavis AG (ETR:ECVG) which was up 4.77% to settle at 14.60 and CTS Eventim AG (ETR:EVDG) which gained 3.29% to close at 58.00.

The worst performers were Redcare Pharmacy NV (ETR:RDC) which was down 0.70% to 106.55 in late trade, TeamViewer AG (ETR:TMV) which lost 0.52% to settle at 17.06 and Bechtle AG (ETR:BC8G) which was down 0.45% to 44.24 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which rose 6.52% to 22.06, Verbio Vereinigte Bioenergie AG (ETR:VBKG) which was up 4.77% to settle at 44.15 and Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (ETR:O2Dn) which gained 3.16% to close at 1.76.

The worst performers were ADTRAN Holdingsa Inc (ETR:QH9) which was down 0.91% to 7.43 in late trade, Morphosys AG O.N. (ETR:MORG) which lost 0.66% to settle at 28.67 and TeamViewer AG (ETR:TMV) which was down 0.52% to 17.06 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 441 to 195 and 103 ended unchanged.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 5.50% to 15.12.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.97% or 18.80 to $1,965.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.87% or 0.70 to hit $80.80 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.75% or 0.63 to trade at $84.50 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.51% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.27% to 0.86.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.50% at 103.48.
