France stocks higher at close of trade; CAC 40 up 0.67%

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.67%, while the SBF 120 index gained 1.30%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA), which rose 2.19% or 0.94 points to trade at 44.12 at the close. Meanwhile, Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield SE (EPA:URW) added 2.05% or 0.98 points to end at 48.78 and Capgemini SE (EPA:CAPP) was up 1.96% or 3.25 points to 168.85 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Carrefour SA (EPA:CARR), which fell 4.55% or 0.83 points to trade at 17.41 at the close. Edenred SA (EPA:EDEN) declined 0.54% or 0.32 points to end at 58.98 and Thales (EPA:TCFP) was down 0.37% or 0.50 points to 133.80.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Nexity (EPA:NEXI) which rose 3.63% to 15.15, Eurazeo (EPA:EURA) which was up 2.92% to settle at 54.70 and Wendel (EPA:MWDP) which gained 2.76% to close at 85.60.

The worst performers were Carrefour SA (EPA:CARR) which was down 4.55% to 17.41 in late trade, ALD SA (EPA:ALDA) which lost 3.14% to settle at 8.95 and Dassault Aviation SA (EPA:AM) which was down 0.78% to 177.80 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 290 to 231 and 104 ended unchanged.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.90% or 17.55 to $1,964.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.70% or 0.56 to hit $80.66 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.61% or 0.51 to trade at $84.38 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.43% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.26% to 0.86.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.42% at 103.56.
