At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 0.48% to hit a new 52-week high, while the MDAX index gained 0.88%, and the TecDAX index added 1.01%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn), which rose 3.75% or 0.86 points to trade at 23.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Daimler Truck Holding AG (ETR:DTGGe) added 2.63% or 0.83 points to end at 32.60 and SAP SE (ETR:SAPG) was up 2.36% or 2.58 points to 111.96 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Covestro AG (ETR:1COV), which fell 3.25% or 1.31 points to trade at 38.98 at the close. BASF SE NA O.N. (ETR:BASFN) declined 1.85% or 0.91 points to end at 48.26 and Volkswagen AG VZO O.N. (ETR:VOWG_p) was down 1.77% or 2.52 points to 139.68.
The top performers on the MDAX were Deutsche Lufthansa AG (ETR:LHAG) which rose 5.73% to 10.95, Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (ETR:AT1) which was up 5.18% to settle at 2.66 and HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which gained 4.94% to close at 22.73.
The worst performers were Lanxess AG (ETR:LXSG) which was down 3.07% to 42.91 in late trade, Aurubis AG (ETR:NAFG) which lost 2.21% to settle at 93.64 and Puma SE (ETR:PUMG) which was down 2.08% to 55.58 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Suse SA (ETR:SUSEG) which rose 2.93% to 18.94, Nagarro SE (ETR:NA9n) which was up 2.86% to settle at 108.00 and Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which gained 2.44% to close at 33.65.
The worst performers were CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (ETR:COP1n) which was down 2.69% to 44.80 in late trade, Varta AG (ETR:VAR1) which lost 1.28% to settle at 29.40 and Morphosys AG O.N. (ETR:MORG) which was down 1.12% to 15.96 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 377 to 316 and 66 ended unchanged.
Shares in Daimler Truck Holding AG (ETR:DTGGe) rose to 52-week highs; up 2.63% or 0.83 to 32.60. Shares in Deutsche Lufthansa AG (ETR:LHAG) rose to 3-years highs; up 5.73% or 0.59 to 10.95. Shares in Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) rose to all time highs; up 2.44% or 0.80 to 33.65.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 1.23% to 17.64.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.02% or 0.35 to $1,854.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 0.60% or 0.48 to hit $80.16 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 0.07% or 0.06 to trade at $85.89 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.43% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.56% to 0.89.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.20% at 104.28.
