France stocks mixed at close of trade; CAC 40 down 0.05%

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 0.05%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.06%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were STMicroelectronics NV (PA:STM), which rose 2.10% or 0.67 points to trade at 32.63 at the close. Meanwhile, EssilorLuxottica SA (PA:ESLX) added 1.43% or 1.70 points to end at 120.20 and Sanofi SA (PA:SASY) was up 1.54% or 1.30 points to 85.52 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Renault SA (PA:RENA), which fell 2.45% or 0.84 points to trade at 33.61 at the close. Airbus Group SE (PA:AIR) declined 2.10% or 1.92 points to end at 89.58 and Thales (PA:TCFP) was down 1.90% or 1.54 points to 79.44.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Genfit (PA:GNFT) which rose 8.80% to 4.62, Compagnie Plastic Omnium SA (PA:PLOF) which was up 3.40% to settle at 29.20 and Air France KLM SA (PA:AIRF) which gained 2.93% to close at 5.20.

The worst performers were SES (PA:SESFd) which was down 4.71% to 7.94 in late trade, Tarkett (PA:TKTT) which lost 3.60% to settle at 14.45 and Trigano SA (PA:TRIA) which was down 3.52% to 131.70 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 335 to 253 and 76 ended unchanged.

Shares in STMicroelectronics NV (PA:STM) rose to 5-year highs; up 2.10% or 0.67 to 32.63. Shares in Compagnie Plastic Omnium SA (PA:PLOF) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 3.40% or 0.96 to 29.20.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 3.24% to 20.12 a new 3-months low.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.16% or 2.80 to $1808.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.55% or 0.71 to hit $45.00 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 1.67% or 0.81 to trade at $47.72 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.08% to 1.1903, while EUR/GBP rose 0.33% to 0.8930.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.14% at 92.093.
