Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Paris, the lost 0.16%, while the index lost 0.13%.

The best performers of the session on the were Orange SA (PA:), which rose 1.86% or 0.27 points to trade at 14.77 at the close. Meanwhile, Sanofi SA (PA:) added 1.60% or 1.33 points to end at 84.41 and Veolia Environnement VE SA (PA:) was up 1.48% or 0.340 points to 23.240 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Peugeot SA (PA:), which fell 3.28% or 0.78 points to trade at 23.01 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:) declined 3.25% or 0.492 points to end at 14.664 and TechnipFMC PLC (PA:) was down 2.85% or 0.52 points to 17.72.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Soitec SA (PA:) which rose 7.30% to 114.600, ICADE (PA:) which was up 3.45% to settle at 89.90 and Biomerieux SA (PA:) which gained 2.67% to close at 78.85.

The worst performers were Faurecia (PA:) which was down 3.73% to 46.19 in late trade, Peugeot SA (PA:) which lost 3.28% to settle at 23.01 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:) which was down 3.25% to 14.664 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 346 to 227 and 101 ended unchanged.

Shares in Soitec SA (PA:) rose to 5-year highs; rising 7.30% or 7.800 to 114.600. Shares in ICADE (PA:) rose to 5-year highs; up 3.45% or 3.00 to 89.90. Shares in Biomerieux SA (PA:) rose to 52-week highs; up 2.67% or 2.05 to 78.85.

The , which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 1.61% to 12.35.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.27% or 3.95 to $1472.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.66% or 0.96 to hit $56.87 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 1.74% or 1.10 to trade at $62.20 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.29% to 1.1081, while EUR/GBP fell 0.18% to 0.8546.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.27% at 97.610.
