Duke Energy announced earnings per share of $1.78 on revenue of $7.97B. Analysts polled by Investing.com anticipated EPS of $1.88 on revenue of $7.36B.

Duke Energy shares are down 11% from the beginning of the year, still down 19.87% from its 52 week high of $116.33 set on April 21.

Duke Energy’s report follows an earnings beat by NextEra Energy on October 28, who reported EPS of $0.85 on revenue of $6.72B, compared to forecasts EPS of $0.79 on revenue of $5.96B.

Southern had beat expectations on October 27 with third quarter EPS of $1.35 on revenue of $8.38B, compared to forecast for EPS of $1.3 on revenue of $6.84B.
