France stocks higher at close of trade; CAC 40 up 0.54%

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.54%, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.47%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Kering SA (PA:PRTP), which rose 2.75% or 18.30 points to trade at 683.80 at the close. Meanwhile, WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) added 2.63% or 1.54 points to end at 60.00 and STMicroelectronics NV (PA:STM) was up 2.60% or 1.09 points to 43.02 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Carrefour SA (PA:CARR), which fell 1.97% or 0.31 points to trade at 15.17 at the close. Renault SA (PA:RENA) declined 1.57% or 0.47 points to end at 29.14 and Air Liquide SA (PA:AIRP) was down 0.79% or 1.18 points to 147.36.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Valneva (PA:VLS) which rose 9.54% to 28.480, DBV Technologies (PA:DBV) which was up 4.87% to settle at 5.51 and Elior Group (PA:ELIOR) which gained 3.48% to close at 5.79.

The worst performers were Faurecia (PA:EPED) which was down 7.93% to 37.14 in late trade, Valeo SA (PA:VLOF) which lost 3.87% to settle at 24.57 and Compagnie Plastic Omnium SE (PA:PLOF) which was down 3.07% to 21.46 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 334 to 294 and 71 ended unchanged.

Shares in Valneva (PA:VLS) rose to all time highs; up 9.54% or 2.480 to 28.480.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0% to 18.96 a new 6-months high.

Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.16% or 2.80 to $1785.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 4.14% or 2.82 to hit $70.97 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 3.58% or 2.56 to trade at $74.15 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.49% to 1.1262, while EUR/GBP fell 0.08% to 0.8475.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.34% at 96.430.
