At the close in NYSE, the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 0.26% to hit a new all time high, while the S&P 500 index gained 0.04%, and the NASDAQ Composite index lost 0.27%.
The best performers of the session on the Dow Jones Industrial Average were Salesforce.com Inc (NYSE:CRM), which rose 4.01% or 9.63 points to trade at 250.00 at the close. Meanwhile, JPMorgan Chase & Co (NYSE:JPM) added 2.71% or 3.83 points to end at 145.08 and Boeing Co (NYSE:BA) was up 2.87% or 6.06 points to 217.04 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Walgreens Boots Alliance Inc (NASDAQ:WBA), which fell 2.40% or 1.21 points to trade at 49.17 at the close. Amgen Inc (NASDAQ:AMGN) declined 1.64% or 3.88 points to end at 233.33 and Apple Inc (NASDAQ:AAPL) was down 1.47% or 1.99 points to 133.38.
The top performers on the S&P 500 were Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd (NYSE:RCL) which rose 8.89% to 73.64, Carnival Corporation (NYSE:CCL) which was up 8.64% to settle at 22.38 and Cboe Global Markets Inc (NYSE:CBOE) which gained 7.72% to close at 96.29.
The worst performers were TechnipFMC PLC (NYSE:FTI) which was down 21.00% to 8.14 in late trade, Allegion PLC (NYSE:ALLE) which lost 7.09% to settle at 109.88 and NRG Energy Inc (NYSE:NRG) which was down 5.95% to 40.48 at the close.
The top performers on the NASDAQ Composite were Socket Mobile Inc (NASDAQ:SCKT) which rose 721.91% to 26.630, Pyxis Tankers Inc (NASDAQ:PXS) which was up 120.26% to settle at 3.370 and Luokung Technology Corp (NASDAQ:LKCO) which gained 83.65% to close at 2.920.
The worst performers were Cortexyme Inc (NASDAQ:CRTX) which was down 36.15% to 30.31 in late trade, Bluebird bio Inc (NASDAQ:BLUE) which lost 35.95% to settle at 29.31 and Ehang Holdings Ltd (NASDAQ:EH) which was down 33.21% to 82.88 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the New York Stock Exchange by 1570 to 1557 and 55 ended unchanged; on the Nasdaq Stock Exchange, 1761 rose and 1429 declined, while 60 ended unchanged.
Shares in JPMorgan Chase & Co (NYSE:JPM) rose to all time highs; up 2.71% or 3.83 to 145.08. Shares in Socket Mobile Inc (NASDAQ:SCKT) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 721.91% or 23.390 to 26.630. Shares in Pyxis Tankers Inc (NASDAQ:PXS) rose to 3-years highs; gaining 120.26% or 1.840 to 3.370. Shares in Bluebird bio Inc (NASDAQ:BLUE) fell to 5-year lows; falling 35.95% or 16.45 to 29.31. Shares in Luokung Technology Corp (NASDAQ:LKCO) rose to 52-week highs; up 83.65% or 1.330 to 2.920.
The CBOE Volatility Index, which measures the implied volatility of S&P 500 options, was up 5.86% to 21.14.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 1.50% or 27.40 to $1795.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 1.21% or 0.72 to hit $60.19 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 0.24% or 0.15 to trade at $63.45 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.09% to 1.2116, while USD/JPY rose 0.52% to 105.91.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 90.507.
