At the close in NYSE, the Dow Jones Industrial Average added 0.10%, while the S&P 500 index added 0.15%, and the NASDAQ Composite index declined 0.03%.
The best performers of the session on the Dow Jones Industrial Average were Salesforce.com Inc (NYSE:CRM), which rose 2.80% or 7.77 points to trade at 285.63 at the close. Meanwhile, Visa Inc Class A (NYSE:V) added 1.44% or 3.28 points to end at 231.59 and American Express Company (NYSE:AXP) was up 1.36% or 2.36 points to 175.72 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Nike Inc (NYSE:NKE), which fell 6.26% or 9.99 points to trade at 149.59 at the close. Dow Inc (NYSE:DOW) declined 1.08% or 0.62 points to end at 56.81 and Amgen Inc (NASDAQ:AMGN) was down 0.67% or 1.44 points to 213.61.
The top performers on the S&P 500 were TripAdvisor Inc (NASDAQ:TRIP) which rose 3.56% to 36.62, Costco Wholesale Corp (NASDAQ:COST) which was up 3.31% to settle at 467.75 and Expedia Inc (NASDAQ:EXPE) which gained 3.09% to close at 171.99.
The worst performers were Foot Locker Inc (NYSE:FL) which was down 7.16% to 48.23 in late trade, Nike Inc (NYSE:NKE) which lost 6.26% to settle at 149.59 and Coty Inc (NYSE:COTY) which was down 2.91% to 8.010 at the close.
The top performers on the NASDAQ Composite were Zivo Bioscience Inc (NASDAQ:ZIVO) which rose 57.97% to 5.450, Paltalk Inc (NASDAQ:PALT) which was up 36.99% to settle at 4.0100 and Aehr Test Systems (NASDAQ:AEHR) which gained 34.30% to close at 15.820.
The worst performers were Color Star Technology Co Ltd (NASDAQ:CSCW) which was down 35.06% to 0.5650 in late trade, Xos Inc (NASDAQ:XOS) which lost 21.47% to settle at 5.560 and Kintara Therapeutics Inc (NASDAQ:KTRA) which was down 21.43% to 0.8800 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the New York Stock Exchange by 1862 to 1319 and 136 ended unchanged; on the Nasdaq Stock Exchange, 2008 fell and 1495 advanced, while 175 ended unchanged.
Shares in Costco Wholesale Corp (NASDAQ:COST) rose to all time highs; rising 3.31% or 14.97 to 467.75. Shares in Salesforce.com Inc (NYSE:CRM) rose to all time highs; up 2.80% or 7.77 to 285.63. Shares in American Express Company (NYSE:AXP) rose to all time highs; rising 1.36% or 2.36 to 175.72. Shares in Amgen Inc (NASDAQ:AMGN) fell to 52-week lows; down 0.67% or 1.44 to 213.61. Shares in Paltalk Inc (NASDAQ:PALT) rose to 52-week highs; rising 36.99% or 1.0828 to 4.0100. Shares in Xos Inc (NASDAQ:XOS) fell to all time lows; falling 21.47% or 1.520 to 5.560. Shares in Aehr Test Systems (NASDAQ:AEHR) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 34.30% or 4.040 to 15.820. Shares in Kintara Therapeutics Inc (NASDAQ:KTRA) fell to 52-week lows; down 21.43% or 0.2400 to 0.8800.
The CBOE Volatility Index, which measures the implied volatility of S&P 500 options, was down 4.72% to 17.75.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.10% or 1.80 to $1748.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.87% or 0.64 to hit $73.94 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.98% or 0.76 to trade at $78.01 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.14% to 1.1720, while USD/JPY rose 0.42% to 110.76.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.27% at 93.278.
