Investing.com – Stocks of SurveyMonkey-owner Momentive Global (NASDAQ:MNTV) surged 9% Friday on a Bloomberg report that the company has received takeover interest and is considering its options including a sale.

According to the report, the company is working with a financial adviser, and discussions are in the early stages. A deal may or may not materialize.

SurveyMonkey is a popular product that lets online users fill out surveys, quizzes and polls.

The report said the company is also under activist investor pressure to sell itself. Momentive is exploring options independently, the report said.

The company was earlier known as Svmk and took on its current name to sharpen its focus on enterprise customers. It said its SurveyMonkey product would not undergo any change.

Medallia (NYSE:MDLA), one of its competitors, agreed to go private earlier this year under a deal with Thoma Bravo.
