Emma Stone has sold one of her New York City apartments at a loss. The West Village pied-a-terre changed hands in December 2021 for $2.25 million.

Stone purchased the one-bedroom condo in 2016 and paid $2.4 million. Two years later, the stylish space came on the market for $2.65 million, and then in 2019, its price was dropped to $2,495,000.

During the pandemic, the actress offered the place to rent for $6,000 a month, beginning in May 2020. It popped up for sale again in August 2021 with a list price of $2,495,000, and eventually sold at the end of the year for the lower amount.

Period property

Featuring just 821 square feet, the one-bedroom, one-bathroom unit features south-facing windows over Abingdon Square Park.

A gracious entry foyer with two large closets is roomy enough to allow for a dining table, and the windowed kitchen is bright with ample storage and counter space.

The spacious sunken living room comes with a decorative fireplace, along with park views.

The king-sized bedroom includes an en suite bathroom, complete with original art deco details, as well as a walk-in closet. The floor plan also comes with a washer-dryer hookup.

Other decor highlights include hardwood oak flooring, moldings typical of its period, beamed ceilings, and brass doorknobs. In addition, a cage storage space was included in the sale.

The 17-floor building was designed by the noted architect Emery Roth in the late 1920s, and its amenities include 24-hour door attendants, a live-in super, a laundry room, and bike storage.

The location is close to the Abingdon Square Farmers’ Market, the Whitney Museum, Meatpacking District, Highline Park, and Hudson River Park, along with divine shopping and dining.

Stone was reported previously to have rented a Chelsea townhouse popular with celebrities. At the time, she and her co-star Andrew Garfield had settled in the posh place while dating and filming “The Amazing Spider-Man”, according to 6sqft. She has since married the comedian and writer Dave McCary, and the couple recently welcomed a daughter.

Bicoastal buying

The A-lister still has ties to the East Coast. She upgraded to a swanky, $3.6 million spread atop a historic boutique hotel, Dirt reported in 2019.

The high-floor home boasts 360-degree views and building amenities such as a gym and 24-hour concierge.

Back on the West Coast, the star of “La La Land” let go of her Beverly Hills cottage in 2019. Listed for $3.89 million in March, it quickly sold for the full price a month later.

That sale resulted in a substantial profit for the actress, who purchased the place in 2012 for $2.5 million.

She then turned around and bought two pricey properties. She picked up a $2.3 million Westwood home, reportedly for a family member, according to Dirt. And the star of “The Help” also helped herself to a cliffside Malibu retreat for $3.23 million.

The Oscar winner has had roles in “Easy A,” “Birdman,” and “The Favourite.” She is set to star in “Cruella 2,” and recently voiced the animated sequel “The Croods 2.”
