Investing.com — Pure Storage Inc (NYSE:PSTG) has partnered with Meta Platforms Inc (NASDAQ:FB) on its new AI Research SuperCluster (RSC), which Meta thinks will be the fastest AI supercomputer in the world, the companies said Monday.

Earlier today, Facebook parent Meta announced that its RSC is helping Meta’s researchers build a new AI supercomputer that can learn from trillions of examples, work across various languages, analyze text, images, and video, and develop new augmented reality tools, and more.

According to the announcement, RSC will help build Meta’s next major computing platform, the metaverse, with Pure chosen as Meta’s storage partner on the project.

“Meta’s RSC is a breakthrough in supercomputing that will lead to new technologies and customer experiences enabled by AI,” said Rob Lee, CTO at Pure Storage.

The companies have worked together many times before, with Pure helping design Meta’s first-generation AI research infrastructure in 2017.

After initially falling to lows of $23.24 earlier in the session, Pure’s share price is now trading at $24.60, down 0.5%. Meta’s shares have declined more than 3.7% Monday.
