Swedish electric performance vehicle maker, Polestar Automotive (NASDAQ:PSNY) confirmed on their website Tuesday that the company plans to put the Polestar O2 electric roadster concept into production under the name Polestar 6.

“With the overwhelming consumer and press response, we took the decision to put this stunning roadster into production and I am so excited to make it a reality,” says Thomas Ingenlath, Polestar CEO. “Polestar 6 is a perfect combination of powerful electric performance and the thrill of fresh air with the top down.”

Polestar revealed the concept in Los Angeles back in March under the Polestar O2 Concept name. The newly named Polestar 6 hard-top convertible will be built on Polestar’s bonded aluminum platform and will feature the high-performance, 800-Volt electric architecture.

Expected to launch in 2026, Polestar plans to launch 500 numbered units of a special ‘LA Concept’ version, the ‘Polestar 6 LA Concept edition.’

The company is already inviting customers to reserve a build spot by logging into the Polestar website starting today, August 16th.
