Greta Thunberg knows how to get in a good jab — even against a former kickboxing champion.
The 19-year-old Swedish climate-change activist has come in for plenty of praise as well as criticism since emerging onto the world stage in 2018 at the age of 15. So baiting her on Twitter isn’t necessarily easy; just ask former President Donald Trump, with whom she’s sparred online before.
But her latest comeback is one for the books.
Former light-heavyweight kickboxing world champ and TikTok star Andrew Tate, 36, tweeted at Thunberg on Tuesday to boast about having dozens of carbon-dioxide-emitting cars, which contribute to climate change.
“Please provide your email address so I can send a complete list of my car collection and their respective enormous emissions,” Tate tweeted.
On Wednesday, Thunberg replied.
“Yes, please do enlighten me,” she wrote, telling him to use the email address smalldickenergy@getalife.com.
That appeared to hit Tate below the belt. His response: “How dare you?!”
The exchange was going viral on Twitter well into Wednesday, leading “Greta Thunberg” to trend.
Thunberg’s response has drawn more than 660,000 likes, along with 15 million views.
Tate is no stranger to controversy, having made comments calling women a “man’s property” and saying that rape victims must “bear responsibility” for their attacks.
The rape comment got Tate banned from Twitter before the platform’s new owner, Elon Musk, reinstated his account.
