Porsche POAHY, +1.55% has announced two new model variants that will join the Cayenne lineup for the 2021 model year. The 2021 Cayenne GTS and the 2021 Cayenne GTS Coupe are enthusiast-tuned models. The GTS SUVs boast powerful turbocharged V8 engines, revised suspensions, unique exhaust systems, and unique cosmetic treatments. These factors differentiate them from the standard models.

Powerful twin-turbo V8

The new GTS models are fitted with a Porsche-developed, twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 engine rated at 453 horsepower and 457 lb-feet of torque. The engine, shared with the Panamera GTS, is mated to a standard 8-speed automatic transmission. Porsche Traction Management, the German automaker’s branded permanent all-wheel-drive system, is also standard.

Performance is impressive, with Porsche claiming both the Cayenne GTS and Cayenne GTS Coupe capable of sprinting from a rest to 60 mph in just 4.5 seconds. That time drops to 4.2 seconds when using Performance Start, which is part of the optional Sport Chrono Package on the Cayenne GTS (Sport Chrono is standard on the Coupe). The top speed of both models is 168 mph.

Revised suspension lowers center of gravity

Porsche has improved the suspension on the Cayenne GTS models with an updated version of Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) dampers. The new suspension, with the standard 3-chamber air suspension, drops the ride height by nearly 1.2 inches when compared with the Cayenne S. Complementing the upgraded suspension are upgraded RS Spyder-design 21-inch wheels painted in satin black.

Available sport exhaust with central pipes

All new Cayenne GTS SUVs get Sport Exhaust, which is more vocal than the standard muffler system. The Cayenne GTS Coupe, when fitted with the optional Lightweight Sport Package, is offered with a central sport exhaust that is even louder. In addition to its centrally mounted exit in the center of the bumper, this boisterous exhaust system has distinguishing oval pipes.

Sport Design package is standard on GTS models

Visually distinguishing the Porsche Cayenne GTS SUVs from the rest of the lineup is the standard Sport Design package that adds black accents to the LED headlights and taillights. The side window trim, front air intakes, Porsche logo, and all model designations are also finished in black paint.

The passenger cabin features Alcantara on the headliner, seat centers, doors, consoles, and armrests. Black brushed-aluminum trim matches the synthetic fabric. The driver and front passenger enjoy standard 8-way sport seats, and there are GTS logos on the doorsills, tachometer, head restraints, and front doors.

How much does the 2021 Porsche Cayenne GTS cost?

The new 2021 Porsche Cayenne GTS has a base price of $107,300. The 2021 Porsche Cayenne GTS and 2021 Porsche Cayenne GTS Coupe will arrive in showrooms in the fall of 2020.
