Some SUV owners put an emphasis on the “utility” part of their sport utility vehicles, and for many, that means having plenty of space for cargo. If you’re looking for an SUV that’s not just for hauling people but also excels when you need to fold all the seats flat and pack it full of gear, this list is for you.

These are the top 10 mainstream SUVs from the 2021 model year with the most cargo space behind the first row.

1. 2021 Chevrolet Suburban/GMC Yukon XL

The Chevy Suburban

When big isn’t big enough, you need the biggest, and that’s exactly what the 2021 Chevy Suburban and 2021 GMC Yukon XL bring to your driveway. With over 20 cubic feet more cargo space than even the Ford Expedition Max, the GM

cousins simply outclass anything in the SUV segment. If you want more cargo space, you’ll have to start looking at vans.

2. 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe/GMC Yukon

Space behind front row: 122.9 cubic feet

Starting price: $50,295/$51,995

If big is what you’re after, the Chevrolet Tahoe has you — plus up to eight of your friends and family — covered with up to nine seats on top of its class-leading cargo space. Its corporate cousin, the GMC Yukon, offers identical space and seating for similar money, but with slightly different looks and equipment packages.

3. 2021 Ford Expedition Max

The Ford Expedition Max: It holds your stuff, and tows your stuff, too.

Ford

Space behind front row: 121.5 cubic feet

Starting price: $56,505

Up to 9,000 pounds of towing capacity means you can haul even more stuff behind if you can’t fit it all inside the 2021 Ford

7. 2021 Honda Passport

Space behind front row: 100.8 cubic feet

Space behind front row: 97.6 cubic feet

Starting price: $41,495

Plenty of seating for seven passengers, a comfy and quiet cabin, plus nearly 100 cubic feet of cargo space make a strong argument for the Buick Enclave as an all-arounder, although we wish active safety features didn’t cost extra.
