Japan stocks lower at close of trade; Nikkei 225 down 0.60%

At the close in Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 declined 0.60%.

The best performers of the session on the Nikkei 225 were Mitsubishi Motors Corp. (TYO:7211), which rose 2.14% or 10.00 points to trade at 477.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Tokyo Electron Ltd. (TYO:8035) added 1.91% or 670.00 points to end at 35,760.00 and Dainippon Screen Mfg. Co., Ltd. (TYO:7735) was up 1.84% or 140.00 points to 7,740.00 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Toho Co., Ltd. (TYO:9602), which fell 3.84% or 195.00 points to trade at 4,885.00 at the close. TOTO Ltd. (TYO:5332) declined 3.10% or 150.00 points to end at 4,685.00 and Chiyoda Corp. (TYO:6366) was down 3.04% or 11.00 points to 351.00.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 2767 to 776 and 203 ended unchanged.

The Nikkei Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Nikkei 225 options, was up 0.58% to 26.12.

Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.29% or 0.25 to $87.52 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.45% or 0.42 to hit $92.87 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.13% or 2.25 to trade at $1,675.25 a troy ounce.

USD/JPY was down 0.08% to 146.79, while EUR/JPY fell 0.20% to 142.27.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 113.29.
