Israel stocks lower at close of trade; TA 35 down 1.64%

At the close in Tel Aviv, the TA 35 lost 1.64%.

The best performers of the session on the TA 35 were Leumi (TASE:LUMI), which rose 0.59% or 18.00 points to trade at 3,060.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Tower Semiconductor Ltd (TASE:TSEM) fell 0.28% or 40.00 points to end at 14,440.00 and Mizrahi Tefahot (TASE:MZTF) was down 0.42% or 50.00 points to 11,720.00 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were OPKO Health Inc (TASE:OPK), which fell 7.25% or 33.30 points to trade at 426.00 at the close. Electra Ltd (TASE:ELTR) declined 4.60% or 8,480.00 points to end at 176,010.00 and Shapir Engineering Industry (TASE:SPEN) was down 4.10% or 112.00 points to 2,620.00.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange by 371 to 109 and 31 ended unchanged.

Crude oil for March delivery was up 0.54% or 0.43 to $80.56 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 0.17% or 0.15 to hit $86.28 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.19% or 3.70 to trade at $1,939.10 a troy ounce.

USD/ILS was up 0.59% to 3.38, while EUR/ILS rose 0.78% to 3.68.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 101.60.
