Israel stocks lower at close of trade; TA 35 down 1.56%

At the close in Tel Aviv, the TA 35 declined 1.56%.

The best performers of the session on the TA 35 were Phoenix Holdings Ltd (TASE:PHOE1), which rose 2.60% or 73 points to trade at 2885 at the close. Meanwhile, Bezeq Israeli Telecommunication Corp Ltd (TASE:BEZQ) added 2.34% or 7.9 points to end at 345.0 and Energix (TASE:ENRG) was up 1.37% or 17 points to 1257 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were OPKO Health Inc (TASE:OPK), which fell 6.47% or 99 points to trade at 1431 at the close. Ormat Technologies (TASE:ORA) declined 5.92% or 1500 points to end at 23850 and Nova (TASE:NVMI) was down 4.85% or 1400 points to 27450.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange by 315 to 138 and 11 ended unchanged.

Shares in Phoenix Holdings Ltd (TASE:PHOE1) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 2.60% or 73 to 2885.

Crude oil for May delivery was down 4.64% or 2.84 to $58.34 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May rose 0.11% or 0.07 to hit $61.74 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.45% or 7.80 to trade at $1725.40 a troy ounce.

USD/ILS was up 0.16% to 3.3304, while EUR/ILS rose 0.21% to 3.9198.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.42% at 92.915.
