Israel stocks higher at close of trade; TA 35 up 1.77%

At the close in Tel Aviv, the TA 35 rose 1.77%.

The best performers of the session on the TA 35 were Energean Oil & Gas PLC (TASE:ENOG), which rose 8.91% or 450.00 points to trade at 5,500.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Energix (TASE:ENRG) added 5.87% or 61.00 points to end at 1,100.00 and Israel Discount Bank Ltd (TASE:DSCT) was up 4.81% or 86.00 points to 1,875.00 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd (TASE:TEVA), which fell 3.42% or 111.00 points to trade at 3,139.00 at the close. Strauss Group (TASE:STRS) declined 2.26% or 192.00 points to end at 8,300.00 and Elbit Systems Ltd (TASE:ESLT) was down 1.08% or 700.00 points to 64,300.00.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange by 277 to 167 and 44 ended unchanged.

Crude oil for May delivery was down 0.90% or 0.64 to $70.26 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 0.68% or 0.52 to hit $76.17 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 2.37% or 46.15 to trade at $1,995.75 a troy ounce.

USD/ILS was down 1.48% to 3.57, while EUR/ILS fell 1.39% to 3.88.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 102.00.
