Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

At the close in NSE, the rose 0.10% to hit a new all time high, while the index gained 0.02%.

The best performers of the session on the were Nestle India Ltd (NS:), which rose 2.20% or 314.60 points to trade at 14858.25 at the close. Meanwhile, Titan Company Ltd (NS:) added 3.51% or 40.65 points to end at 1201.90 and Tata Steel Ltd (NS:) was up 3.36% or 15.00 points to 461.00 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Vedanta Ltd (NS:), which fell 2.71% or 4.05 points to trade at 144.25 at the close. Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (NS:) declined 2.04% or 35.20 points to end at 1692.70 and Tata Motors Ltd (NS:) was down 1.45% or 2.60 points to 175.95.

The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Tata Steel Ltd (BO:) which rose 3.23% to 461.20, State Bank Of India (BO:) which was up 2.96% to settle at 337.85 and Yes Bank Ltd (BO:) which gained 2.91% to close at 51.35.

The worst performers were Vedanta Ltd (BO:) which was down 3.45% to 144.20 in late trade, Tata Motors Ltd DVR (BO:) which lost 2.75% to settle at 72.60 and Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (BO:) which was down 2.10% to 1693.05 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 819 to 725 and 91 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1201 rose and 1188 declined, while 161 ended unchanged.

The , which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was up 1.67% to 12.3250.

Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.24% or 3.50 to $1480.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 0.41% or 0.25 to hit $60.93 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.39% or 0.26 to trade at $66.28 a barrel.

USD/INR was down 0.06% to 71.124, while EUR/INR fell 0.10% to 79.0650.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 97.000.
