Germany stocks mixed at close of trade; DAX up 0.82%

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 0.82% to hit a new 1-month high, while the MDAX index added 0.11%, and the TecDAX index declined 2.42%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Daimler AG NA O.N. (DE:DAIGn), which rose 4.96% or 3.410 points to trade at 72.110 at the close. Meanwhile, BASF SE NA O.N. (DE:BASFN) added 4.36% or 2.730 points to end at 65.310 and Porsche Automobil Holding SE (DE:PSHG_p) was up 3.72% or 3.240 points to 90.280 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were HelloFresh SE (DE:HFGG), which fell 8.94% or 6.18 points to trade at 62.92 at the close. Delivery Hero AG (DE:DHER) declined 6.08% or 5.97 points to end at 92.23 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) was down 5.48% or 32.400 points to 558.400.

The top performers on the MDAX were Deutsche Lufthansa AG (DE:LHAG) which rose 4.79% to 7.050, Commerzbank AG O.N. (DE:CBKG) which was up 4.75% to settle at 7.323 and Rheinmetall AG (DE:RHMG) which gained 4.07% to close at 86.150.

The worst performers were CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (DE:COP1n) which was down 7.24% to 66.650 in late trade, Evotec AG O.N. (DE:EVTG) which lost 7.20% to settle at 38.660 and AUTO1 Group SE (DE:AG1G) which was down 6.02% to 19.83 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were 11 AG (DE:1U1) which rose 0.99% to 24.420, Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) which was up 0.80% to settle at 14.405 and Freenet AG NA (DE:FNTGn) which gained 0.38% to close at 23.510.

The worst performers were Suse SA (DE:SUSEG) which was down 7.55% to 39.20 in late trade, Nagarro SE (DE:NA9n) which lost 7.35% to settle at 195.50 and CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (DE:COP1n) which was down 7.24% to 66.650 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 416 to 272 and 63 ended unchanged.

Shares in Commerzbank AG O.N. (DE:CBKG) rose to 52-week highs; rising 4.75% or 0.332 to 7.323. Shares in Freenet AG NA (DE:FNTGn) rose to 3-years highs; up 0.38% or 0.090 to 23.510.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 5.82% to 16.67 a new 1-month low.

Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.84% or 15.20 to $1815.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 1.43% or 1.09 to hit $77.17 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 1.44% or 1.14 to trade at $80.12 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.02% to 1.1292, while EUR/GBP fell 0.46% to 0.8342.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 96.240.
