Germany stocks mixed at close of trade; DAX up 0.61%

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 0.61%, while the MDAX index lost 0.14%, and the TecDAX index declined 0.41%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn), which rose 5.71% or 0.420 points to trade at 7.780 at the close. Meanwhile, MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (DE:MTXGn) added 4.65% or 6.75 points to end at 152.05 and Volkswagen AG VZO O.N. (DE:VOWG_p) was up 1.93% or 2.61 points to 137.64 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Vonovia SE (DE:VNAn), which fell 0.81% or 0.48 points to trade at 58.82 at the close. Bayer AG NA (DE:BAYGN) declined 0.66% or 0.31 points to end at 46.52 and SAP SE (DE:SAPG) was down 0.60% or 0.790 points to 131.490.

The top performers on the MDAX were Grenke N AG (DE:GLJn) which rose 9.95% to 41.12, Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (DE:TKAG) which was up 7.45% to settle at 4.642 and Deutsche Lufthansa AG (DE:LHAG) which gained 6.76% to close at 7.644.

The worst performers were Symrise AG Inh. O.N. (DE:SY1G) which was down 3.81% to 115.400 in late trade, HelloFresh SE (DE:HFGG) which lost 3.68% to settle at 46.06 and Zalando SE (DE:ZALG) which was down 3.15% to 79.90 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) which rose 8.11% to 12.930, Cancom SE O.N. (DE:COKG) which was up 4.39% to settle at 45.660 and Eckert & Ziegler AG O.N. (DE:EUZG) which gained 2.47% to close at 44.060.

The worst performers were LPKF Laser & Electronics (DE:LPKG) which was down 3.34% to 21.700 in late trade, Bechtle AG (DE:BC8G) which lost 3.02% to settle at 173.600 and New Work SE (DE:NWOn) which was down 2.84% to 257.00 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 409 to 260 and 76 ended unchanged.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 3.73% to 26.59.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.61% or 11.65 to $1908.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 2.73% or 1.07 to hit $40.29 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 2.35% or 0.97 to trade at $42.26 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.01% to 1.1780, while EUR/GBP rose 0.26% to 0.9099.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.00% at 93.547.
