Germany stocks mixed at close of trade; DAX up 0.49%

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 0.49%, while the MDAX index gained 0.11%, and the TecDAX index fell 0.36%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Porsche Automobil Holding SE (ETR:PSHG_p), which rose 3.53% or 2.36 points to trade at 69.22 at the close. Meanwhile, Covestro AG (ETR:1COV) added 3.40% or 0.99 points to end at 30.12 and Brenntag AG (ETR:BNRGn) was up 2.83% or 1.82 points to 66.24 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p), which fell 2.84% or 11.00 points to trade at 376.20 at the close. Fresenius SE & Co KGAA O.N. (ETR:FREG) declined 2.53% or 0.64 points to end at 24.62 and Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn) was down 1.97% or 0.48 points to 23.94.

The top performers on the MDAX were Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG) which rose 3.67% to 149.70, Lanxess AG (ETR:LXSG) which was up 3.10% to settle at 33.64 and Befesa SA (ETR:BFSA) which gained 2.01% to close at 32.50.

The worst performers were Sixt SE (ETR:SIXG) which was down 6.47% to 90.30 in late trade, Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which lost 4.30% to settle at 42.26 and Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which was down 2.52% to 19.70 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Jenoptik AG (ETR:JENGn) which rose 2.25% to 21.78, Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which was up 2.06% to settle at 19.82 and Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG) which gained 1.91% to close at 52.18.

The worst performers were Morphosys AG O.N. (ETR:MORG) which was down 4.98% to 19.45 in late trade, Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) which lost 2.84% to settle at 376.20 and Suse SA (ETR:SUSEG) which was down 2.59% to 18.43 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 347 to 329 and 82 ended unchanged.

Shares in Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn) fell to 5-year lows; falling 1.97% or 0.48 to 23.94. Shares in Sixt SE (ETR:SIXG) fell to 52-week lows; falling 6.47% or 6.25 to 90.30. Shares in Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) fell to 52-week lows; losing 2.52% or 0.51 to 19.70.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 2.46% to 26.94.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.30% or 5.05 to $1,678.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.45% or 0.38 to hit $85.14 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.44% or 0.40 to trade at $91.75 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.05% to 1.00, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.09% to 0.88.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.04% at 109.46.
