Germany stocks mixed at close of trade; DAX up 0.46%

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 0.46%, while the MDAX index fell 0.16%, and the TecDAX index climbed 0.13%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Continental AG O.N. (ETR:CONG), which rose 7.62% or 5.54 points to trade at 78.26 at the close. Meanwhile, Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) added 3.12% or 1.08 points to end at 35.51 and Bayer AG NA (ETR:BAYGN) was up 2.13% or 1.22 points to 58.47 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p), which fell 2.00% or 8.10 points to trade at 397.70 at the close. Merck KGaA (ETR:MRCG) declined 1.24% or 2.20 points to end at 175.10 and Brenntag AG (ETR:BNRGn) was down 1.03% or 0.74 points to 70.88.

The top performers on the MDAX were Befesa SA (ETR:BFSA) which rose 2.87% to 46.62, Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which was up 2.72% to settle at 71.80 and Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which gained 2.45% to close at 29.29.

The worst performers were HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which was down 4.14% to 19.57 in late trade, Tag Immobilien AG (ETR:TEGG) which lost 3.97% to settle at 7.25 and Fuchs Petrolub AG VZO Pref (ETR:FPE3_p) which was down 3.30% to 37.54 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) which rose 3.12% to 35.51, Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which was up 2.72% to settle at 71.80 and Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which gained 2.45% to close at 29.29.

The worst performers were Cancom SE O.N. (ETR:COKG) which was down 2.78% to 33.62 in late trade, Morphosys AG O.N. (ETR:MORG) which lost 2.73% to settle at 15.51 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) which was down 2.00% to 397.70 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 366 to 301 and 93 ended unchanged.

Shares in Continental AG O.N. (ETR:CONG) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 7.62% or 5.54 to 78.26. Shares in HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) fell to 52-week lows; falling 4.14% or 0.85 to 19.57.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 1.90% to 17.59 a new 1-month low.

Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.05% or 0.85 to $1,819.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 0.95% or 0.74 to hit $76.84 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.58% or 0.48 to trade at $82.81 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.02% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.04% to 0.89.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 105.64.
