Germany stocks mixed at close of trade; DAX up 0.45%

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 0.45%, while the MDAX index gained 1.19%, and the TecDAX index declined 1.40%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Adidas AG (ETR:ADSGN), which rose 2.68% or 5.90 points to trade at 225.90 at the close. Meanwhile, Continental AG O.N. (ETR:CONG) added 2.58% or 1.60 points to end at 63.50 and Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG) was up 2.49% or 0.32 points to 13.36 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p), which fell 15.41% or 50.80 points to trade at 278.90 at the close. Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG) declined 4.02% or 21.40 points to end at 510.40 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) was down 1.94% or 0.61 points to 30.89.

The top performers on the MDAX were Sixt SE (ETR:SIXG) which rose 9.65% to 94.85, HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which was up 8.19% to settle at 6.69 and Deutsche Lufthansa AG (ETR:LHAG) which gained 5.62% to close at 6.66.

The worst performers were Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which was down 3.48% to 37.20 in late trade, Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG) which lost 2.85% to settle at 81.70 and Bechtle AG (ETR:BC8G) which was down 2.18% to 45.82 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which rose 4.42% to 22.43, Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which was up 1.82% to settle at 13.45 and Freenet AG NA (ETR:FNTGn) which gained 1.66% to close at 26.92.

The worst performers were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) which was down 15.41% to 278.90 in late trade, Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which lost 3.48% to settle at 37.20 and Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG) which was down 2.85% to 81.70 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 382 to 229 and 28 ended unchanged.

Shares in Adidas AG (ETR:ADSGN) rose to 52-week highs; rising 2.68% or 5.90 to 225.90. Shares in Freenet AG NA (ETR:FNTGn) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 1.66% or 0.44 to 26.92.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 3.81% to 16.39.

Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.40% or 9.65 to $2,398.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.06% or 0.05 to hit $82.64 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 0.32% or 0.28 to trade at $87.01 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.13% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.21% to 0.86.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.10% at 105.88.
