Germany stocks mixed at close of trade; DAX up 0.18%

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 0.18% to hit a new 52-week high, while the MDAX index added 1.32%, and the TecDAX index declined 0.16%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Airbus Group SE (ETR:AIRG), which rose 4.91% or 5.84 points to trade at 124.88 at the close. Meanwhile, Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (ETR:DBKGn) added 3.94% or 0.45 points to end at 11.86 and Adidas AG (ETR:ADSGN) was up 2.96% or 4.16 points to 144.92 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG), which fell 2.29% or 0.92 points to trade at 39.21 at the close. Siemens Healthineers AG (ETR:SHLG) declined 2.10% or 1.08 points to end at 50.24 and Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn) was down 1.86% or 0.48 points to 25.28.

The top performers on the MDAX were Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG) which rose 11.60% to 11.50, Befesa SA (ETR:BFSA) which was up 4.29% to settle at 50.60 and Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (ETR:TKAG) which gained 3.39% to close at 6.83.

The worst performers were Stabilus (ETR:STM1) which was down 3.79% to 61.00 in late trade, Jungheinrich AG O.N.VZO (ETR:JUNG_p) which lost 1.98% to settle at 34.66 and Tag Immobilien AG (ETR:TEGG) which was down 1.72% to 7.99 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Suse SA (ETR:SUSEG) which rose 3.53% to 19.07, Verbio Vereinigte Bioenergie AG (ETR:VBKG) which was up 3.01% to settle at 51.05 and SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which gained 2.17% to close at 79.95.

The worst performers were Morphosys AG O.N. (ETR:MORG) which was down 2.51% to 18.45 in late trade, Siemens Healthineers AG (ETR:SHLG) which lost 2.10% to settle at 50.24 and Qiagen NV (ETR:QIA) which was down 1.69% to 44.73 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 357 to 323 and 80 ended unchanged.

Shares in Airbus Group SE (ETR:AIRG) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 4.91% or 5.84 to 124.88. Shares in Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG) rose to 3-years highs; up 11.60% or 1.20 to 11.50.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 0.91% to 17.82.

Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.34% or 6.25 to $1,851.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.03% or 0.02 to hit $78.61 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 0.05% or 0.04 to trade at $85.34 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.03% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.16% to 0.89.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 103.79.
