Germany stocks mixed at close of trade; DAX down 0.27%

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX lost 0.27%, while the MDAX index declined 0.15%, and the TecDAX index climbed 1.89%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p), which rose 7.78% or 29.80 points to trade at 413.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Merck KGaA (ETR:MRCG) added 5.92% or 10.10 points to end at 180.60 and Siemens Healthineers AG (ETR:SHLG) was up 4.00% or 1.92 points to 49.88 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG), which fell 14.03% or 4.20 points to trade at 25.74 at the close. E.ON SE (ETR:EONGn) declined 3.70% or 0.31 points to end at 8.12 and SAP SE (ETR:SAPG) was down 2.84% or 2.58 points to 88.14.

The top performers on the MDAX were Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which rose 5.05% to 137.40, Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which was up 4.60% to settle at 26.39 and Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which gained 3.33% to close at 26.07.

The worst performers were Uniper SE (ETR:UN01) which was down 10.41% to 10.50 in late trade, Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG) which lost 4.52% to settle at 180.55 and Deutsche Lufthansa AG (ETR:LHAG) which was down 4.04% to 5.99 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) which rose 7.78% to 413.00, Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which was up 5.05% to settle at 137.40 and Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which gained 4.60% to close at 26.39.

The worst performers were SAP SE (ETR:SAPG) which was down 2.84% to 88.14 in late trade, Kontron AG (ETR:KTN) which lost 2.51% to settle at 14.00 and Suse SA (ETR:SUSEG) which was down 1.60% to 17.81 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 344 to 328 and 97 ended unchanged.

Shares in HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) fell to 52-week lows; falling 14.03% or 4.20 to 25.74. Shares in Suse SA (ETR:SUSEG) fell to all time lows; losing 1.60% or 0.29 to 17.81.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 5.63% to 27.98.

Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.71% or 12.05 to $1,712.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 2.82% or 2.82 to hit $97.06 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 2.13% or 2.28 to trade at $104.64 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.06% to 1.02, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.18% to 0.85.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.07% at 106.88.
