Germany stocks lower at close of trade; DAX down 1.59%

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX lost 1.59%, while the MDAX index lost 2.13%, and the TecDAX index declined 2.60%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Continental AG O.N. (ETR:CONG), which rose 2.02% or 0.95 points to trade at 47.95 at the close. Meanwhile, RWE AG ST O.N. (ETR:RWEG) added 0.05% or 0.02 points to end at 39.09 and Munich Reinsurance (ETR:MUVGn) was down 0.12% or 0.30 points to 251.00 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Adidas AG (ETR:ADSGN), which fell 5.17% or 6.30 points to trade at 115.56 at the close. Puma SE (ETR:PUMG) declined 5.11% or 2.56 points to end at 47.56 and Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n) was down 4.89% or 0.56 points to 10.79.

The top performers on the MDAX were Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG) which rose 2.35% to 154.55, K&S AG (ETR:SDFGn) which was up 0.62% to settle at 20.95 and Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (ETR:O2Dn) which gained 0.49% to close at 2.04.

The worst performers were Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which was down 6.62% to 36.81 in late trade, Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG) which lost 6.17% to settle at 49.24 and Bechtle AG (ETR:BC8G) which was down 6.16% to 35.94 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which rose 1.58% to 22.55, Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (ETR:O2Dn) which was up 0.49% to settle at 2.04 and ADTRAN Holdingsa Inc (ETR:QH9) which unchanged 0.00% to close at 20.80.

The worst performers were Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG) which was down 6.17% to 49.24 in late trade, Bechtle AG (ETR:BC8G) which lost 6.16% to settle at 35.94 and Suse SA (ETR:SUSEG) which was down 5.46% to 15.25 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 493 to 180 and 77 ended unchanged.

Shares in Adidas AG (ETR:ADSGN) fell to 5-year lows; losing 5.17% or 6.30 to 115.56. Shares in Puma SE (ETR:PUMG) fell to 52-week lows; down 5.11% or 2.56 to 47.56. Shares in Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n) fell to all time lows; losing 4.89% or 0.56 to 10.79.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 1.25% to 29.86.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.69% or 11.95 to $1,708.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 4.52% or 4.00 to hit $92.45 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 3.96% or 3.74 to trade at $98.16 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.27% to 0.98, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.32% to 0.88.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.23% at 112.44.
