Germany stocks lower at close of trade; DAX down 1.12%

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX declined 1.12%, while the MDAX index fell 2.09%, and the TecDAX index fell 1.77%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Hannover Rueck SE (ETR:HNRGn), which rose 1.76% or 2.55 points to trade at 147.40 at the close. Meanwhile, Muench. Rueckvers. VNA O.N. (ETR:MUVGn) added 1.75% or 4.00 points to end at 232.40 and E.ON SE (ETR:EONGn) was up 1.44% or 0.13 points to 9.16 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG), which fell 7.19% or 2.10 points to trade at 27.12 at the close. Continental AG O.N. (ETR:CONG) declined 6.54% or 4.54 points to end at 64.90 and Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG) was down 5.90% or 1.85 points to 29.49.

The top performers on the MDAX were Jungheinrich AG O.N.VZO (ETR:JUNG_p) which rose 2.90% to 26.94, Fraport AG (ETR:FRAG) which was up 1.99% to settle at 47.76 and Vantage Towers AG (ETR:VTWRn) which gained 1.43% to close at 28.30.

The worst performers were Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which was down 6.07% to 46.87 in late trade, Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which lost 5.46% to settle at 75.25 and Kion Group AG (ETR:KGX) which was down 5.24% to 41.99 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Morphosys AG O.N. (ETR:MORG) which rose 2.40% to 23.00, Verbio Vereinigte Bioenergie AG (ETR:VBKG) which was up 2.13% to settle at 64.65 and Vantage Towers AG (ETR:VTWRn) which gained 1.43% to close at 28.30.

The worst performers were Jenoptik AG (ETR:JENGn) which was down 5.96% to 21.76 in late trade, Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which lost 5.46% to settle at 75.25 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) which was down 5.15% to 26.13 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 477 to 191 and 100 ended unchanged.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 2.73% to 24.48.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.42% or 7.65 to $1,812.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.73% or 0.66 to hit $90.10 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.61% or 0.59 to trade at $96.06 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.23% to 1.02, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.24% to 0.85.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.17% at 106.14.
