Germany stocks lower at close of trade; DAX down 0.86%

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX lost 0.86%, while the MDAX index fell 2.14%, and the TecDAX index declined 0.62%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Siemens Healthineers AG (ETR:SHLG), which rose 1.58% or 0.76 points to trade at 49.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Fresenius SE & Co KGAA O.N. (ETR:FREG) added 1.17% or 0.32 points to end at 27.76 and Beiersdorf AG O.N. (ETR:BEIG) was up 1.06% or 1.06 points to 100.80 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG), which fell 9.82% or 2.83 points to trade at 25.99 at the close. HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) declined 7.28% or 1.95 points to end at 24.84 and Adidas AG (ETR:ADSGN) was down 3.58% or 6.30 points to 169.72.

The top performers on the MDAX were Fraport AG (ETR:FRAG) which rose 2.48% to 43.78, Encavis AG (ETR:ECVG) which was up 1.44% to settle at 20.13 and Software AG (ETR:SOWGn) which gained 0.57% to close at 28.30.

The worst performers were Uniper SE (ETR:UN01) which was down 10.47% to 5.86 in late trade, Kion Group AG (ETR:KGX) which lost 5.64% to settle at 42.17 and Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which was down 4.78% to 25.49 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Morphosys AG O.N. (ETR:MORG) which rose 4.80% to 21.85, Siemens Healthineers AG (ETR:SHLG) which was up 1.58% to settle at 49.00 and Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which gained 1.43% to close at 24.90.

The worst performers were Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which was down 4.78% to 25.49 in late trade, Nagarro SE (ETR:NA9n) which lost 4.70% to settle at 105.40 and Cancom SE O.N. (ETR:COKG) which was down 3.45% to 31.36 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 458 to 212 and 94 ended unchanged.

Shares in HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) fell to 52-week lows; down 7.28% or 1.95 to 24.84. Shares in Uniper SE (ETR:UN01) fell to all time lows; losing 10.47% or 0.69 to 5.86.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 2.98% to 27.29.

Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.13% or 2.25 to $1,716.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.96% or 0.93 to hit $95.77 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.21% or 0.21 to trade at $99.98 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.87% to 1.01, while EUR/GBP fell 0.72% to 0.84.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.57% at 106.96.
