Germany stocks lower at close of trade; DAX down 0.54%

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX fell 0.54% to hit a new 3-months low, while the MDAX index declined 0.52%, and the TecDAX index declined 0.95%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were RWE AG ST O.N. (DE:RWEG), which rose 1.28% or 0.400 points to trade at 31.705 at the close. Meanwhile, Heidelbergcement AG O.N. (DE:HEIG) added 1.26% or 0.610 points to end at 49.120 and Continental AG O.N. (DE:CONG) was up 1.04% or 0.94 points to 91.04 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Merck KGaA (DE:MRCG), which fell 3.88% or 5.15 points to trade at 127.47 at the close. Delivery Hero AG (DE:DHER) declined 2.16% or 2.17 points to end at 98.08 and Deutsche Boerse AG (DE:DB1Gn) was down 2.13% or 2.755 points to 126.425.

The top performers on the MDAX were Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which rose 2.89% to 81.160, Rational AG (DE:RAAG) which was up 1.91% to settle at 641.50 and Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (DE:AT1) which gained 1.88% to close at 4.125.

The worst performers were Wacker Chemie O.N. (DE:WCHG) which was down 3.52% to 82.62 in late trade, Nemetschek AG O.N. (DE:NEKG) which lost 3.13% to settle at 62.000 and Zalando SE (DE:ZALG) which was down 2.65% to 80.02 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which rose 2.89% to 81.160, Jenoptik AG (DE:JENGn) which was up 2.32% to settle at 21.160 and LPKF Laser & Electronics (DE:LPKG) which gained 2.03% to close at 16.120.

The worst performers were Nemetschek AG O.N. (DE:NEKG) which was down 3.13% to 62.000 in late trade, Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) which lost 2.82% to settle at 364.800 and CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (DE:COP1n) which was down 2.66% to 73.200 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 334 to 324 and 25 ended unchanged.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 3.89% to 38.09.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.73% or 13.65 to $1881.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 2.21% or 0.80 to hit $35.37 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 1.73% or 0.66 to trade at $37.60 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.22% to 1.1648, while EUR/GBP fell 0.34% to 0.8999.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 94.017.
