Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Frankfurt, the lost 0.48%, while the index declined 0.29%, and the index declined 0.49%.

The best performers of the session on the were Heidelbergcement AG O.N. (DE:), which rose 0.45% or 0.300 points to trade at 67.300 at the close. Meanwhile, Muench. Rueckvers. VNA O.N. (DE:) added 0.43% or 1.10 points to end at 257.80 and Siemens AG Class N (DE:) was up 0.33% or 0.38 points to 114.82 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Wirecard AG (DE:), which fell 3.30% or 4.000 points to trade at 117.250 at the close. Deutsche Lufthansa AG (DE:) declined 2.54% or 0.450 points to end at 17.260 and Continental AG O.N. (DE:) was down 1.51% or 1.86 points to 121.54.

The top performers on the MDAX were Delivery Hero AG (DE:) which rose 1.81% to 44.97, Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (DE:) which was up 1.44% to settle at 106.000 and GEA Group AG (DE:) which gained 1.32% to close at 29.230.

The worst performers were Rheinmetall AG (DE:) which was down 7.05% to 96.020 in late trade, Leoni AG (DE:) which lost 3.08% to settle at 12.280 and Siltronic AG (DE:) which was down 2.99% to 74.740 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Draegerwerk VZO O.N. (DE:) which rose 2.92% to 56.350, Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (DE:) which was up 1.44% to settle at 106.000 and Cancom SE O.N. (DE:) which gained 1.37% to close at 51.750.

The worst performers were Medigene NA O.N. (DE:) which was down 4.40% to 5.430 in late trade, SLM Solutions Group AG (DE:) which lost 4.14% to settle at 13.90 and Nordex SE O.N. (DE:) which was down 3.43% to 12.400 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 435 to 235 and 90 ended unchanged.

Shares in Muench. Rueckvers. VNA O.N. (DE:) rose to all time highs; rising 0.43% or 1.10 to 257.80.

The , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 1.40% to 14.47.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.02% or 0.35 to $1474.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 2.69% or 1.49 to hit $56.84 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 2.12% or 1.29 to trade at $62.20 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.07% to 1.1070, while EUR/GBP fell 0.02% to 0.8566.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 97.805.
