Germany stocks lower at close of trade; DAX down 0.37%

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX lost 0.37%, while the MDAX index lost 0.65%, and the TecDAX index lost 0.65%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Vonovia SE (DE:VNAn), which rose 5.01% or 2.48 points to trade at 51.90 at the close. Meanwhile, Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn) added 2.93% or 0.325 points to end at 11.435 and Muench. Rueckvers. VNA O.N. (DE:MUVGn) was up 1.71% or 4.28 points to 254.13 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Bayer AG NA (DE:BAYGN), which fell 2.92% or 1.43 points to trade at 47.50 at the close. Volkswagen AG VZO O.N. (DE:VOWG_p) declined 2.91% or 5.17 points to end at 172.55 and Covestro AG (DE:1COV) was down 2.47% or 1.400 points to 55.200.

The top performers on the MDAX were Scout24 AG (DE:G24n) which rose 5.14% to 60.980, LEG Immobilien AG (DE:LEGn) which was up 1.78% to settle at 125.450 and Hannover Rueck SE (DE:HNRGn) which gained 1.18% to close at 163.10.

The worst performers were CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (DE:COP1n) which was down 7.42% to 66.100 in late trade, Aixtron SE (DE:AIXGn) which lost 6.62% to settle at 18.835 and AUTO1 Group SE (DE:AG1G) which was down 5.07% to 26.20 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Morphosys AG O.N. (DE:MORG) which rose 7.05% to 36.680, Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) which was up 4.41% to settle at 15.390 and Pfeiffer Vacuum Technology O.N. (DE:PV) which gained 1.16% to close at 218.00.

The worst performers were CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (DE:COP1n) which was down 7.42% to 66.100 in late trade, Aixtron SE (DE:AIXGn) which lost 6.62% to settle at 18.835 and Nemetschek AG O.N. (DE:NEKG) which was down 4.41% to 101.800 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 377 to 319 and 77 ended unchanged.

Shares in AUTO1 Group SE (DE:AG1G) fell to all time lows; falling 5.07% or 1.40 to 26.20.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 2.11% to 19.80 a new 1-month high.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.18% or 3.15 to $1786.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.18% or 0.14 to hit $78.36 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.26% or 0.21 to trade at $82.10 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.49% to 1.1191, while EUR/GBP fell 0.08% to 0.8397.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.41% at 96.890.
