Germany stocks lower at close of trade; DAX down 0.33%

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX fell 0.33%, while the MDAX index lost 0.18%, and the TecDAX index lost 0.42%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (DE:FMEG), which rose 3.03% or 1.710 points to trade at 58.120 at the close. Meanwhile, Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn) added 1.72% or 0.149 points to end at 8.792 and Siemens AG Class N (DE:SIEGn) was up 1.78% or 2.34 points to 133.51 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Delivery Hero AG (DE:DHER), which fell 2.81% or 3.75 points to trade at 129.55 at the close. MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (DE:MTXGn) declined 2.36% or 4.75 points to end at 196.15 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) was down 2.04% or 0.710 points to 34.070.

The top performers on the MDAX were Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (DE:TKAG) which rose 7.46% to 10.682, Aurubis AG (DE:NAFG) which was up 2.18% to settle at 66.560 and Qiagen NV (DE:QIA) which gained 1.11% to close at 45.015.

The worst performers were Hochtief AG (DE:HOTG) which was down 4.24% to 75.70 in late trade, Puma SE (DE:PUMG) which lost 2.55% to settle at 82.59 and Nemetschek AG O.N. (DE:NEKG) which was down 2.12% to 57.850 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Qiagen NV (DE:QIA) which rose 1.11% to 45.015, Evotec AG O.N. (DE:EVTG) which was up 1.12% to settle at 34.450 and Aixtron SE (DE:AIXGn) which gained 0.53% to close at 16.427.

The worst performers were LPKF Laser & Electronics (DE:LPKG) which was down 4.51% to 27.550 in late trade, Draegerwerk VZO O.N. (DE:DRWG_p) which lost 3.70% to settle at 65.100 and Drillisch AG (DE:DRIG) which was down 2.99% to 20.750 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 398 to 277 and 33 ended unchanged.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 5.84% to 24.10.

Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.05% or 0.95 to $1836.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.48% or 0.28 to hit $58.64 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 0.42% or 0.26 to trade at $61.48 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.15% to 1.2135, while EUR/GBP fell 0.06% to 0.8764.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.11% at 90.323.
