Germany stocks lower at close of trade; DAX down 0.33%

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX lost 0.33%, while the MDAX index fell 0.59%, and the TecDAX index fell 0.49%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Mercedes Benz Group AG (ETR:MBGn), which rose 2.84% or 2.06 points to trade at 74.64 at the close. Meanwhile, E.ON SE (ETR:EONGn) added 1.75% or 0.18 points to end at 10.16 and MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (ETR:MTXGn) was up 1.74% or 4.00 points to 234.00 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn), which fell 2.37% or 0.86 points to trade at 35.24 at the close. Allianz SE VNA O.N. (ETR:ALVG) declined 1.85% or 4.10 points to end at 216.95 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) was down 1.61% or 7.00 points to 427.10.

The top performers on the MDAX were Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (ETR:TKAG) which rose 2.14% to 6.98, Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which was up 1.65% to settle at 25.90 and Encavis AG (ETR:ECVG) which gained 1.50% to close at 18.95.

The worst performers were Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which was down 3.26% to 40.38 in late trade, CTS Eventim AG (ETR:EVDG) which lost 2.74% to settle at 63.80 and Aurubis AG (ETR:NAFG) which was down 2.63% to 95.60 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Jenoptik AG (ETR:JENGn) which rose 2.57% to 31.92, Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which was up 1.95% to settle at 28.70 and Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which gained 1.65% to close at 25.90.

The worst performers were Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) which was down 2.37% to 35.24 in late trade, Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which lost 2.31% to settle at 133.50 and Verbio Vereinigte Bioenergie AG (ETR:VBKG) which was down 2.25% to 49.90 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 407 to 277 and 74 ended unchanged.

Shares in MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (ETR:MTXGn) rose to 52-week highs; up 1.74% or 4.00 to 234.00. Shares in Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) rose to all time highs; gaining 1.95% or 0.55 to 28.70.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 5.72% to 18.84.

Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.03% or 0.55 to $1,851.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 3.68% or 2.89 to hit $75.60 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 3.39% or 2.89 to trade at $82.25 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.19% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.04% to 0.89.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.10% at 103.89.
